So today is the first day of fall. Hallelujah. This summer was brutal - and I am so thankful to be done with it and move on to fall. But there are some things about summer I want to remember:
* I want to remember the joy of spending so much time with my sisters and nieces. It was awesome. I am so thankful to have them near. Even though we haven't been able to see each other much since school started, there is just something about knowing they are within an hour of me.
* I want to remember the great time we had with my parents visiting. It was so fun having our whole family together. We were able to have my mom stay with us for a few days and it was great. We really miss them.
* I want to remember Ethan's 9th birthday. For his birthday he wanted... you guess it!... LEGOS! Then he wanted chicken strips and a cookie monster from Cheddars.
* I want to remember how I survived (and conquered!) my hardest semester yet. I took 3 classes (which is the maximum you are allowed during the summer). And they were INTENSE. I read over 45 children's books and 2 textbooks. I took a 3 week chemistry course (which is normally 15 weeks). And it was brutal. I also completed over 25 hours of community service (as part of "service learning" assignments). Needless to say, by the end of summer I was WHOOPED. And tired. And burned out.
* I want to remember how responsible... and patient... and understanding... and helpful Abby and Ethan were. This summer was not a fun vacation for them. They spent a lot of time at home while I studied or went to class. But they were great. They helped pick up the slack at home and were generally happy.
* I want to remember our mini-vacation to Oklahoma. The weekend between my summer and fall semesters we drove north a few hours and just enjoyed some time away from home. We went to Turner Falls, explored outdoors, tried interesting restaurants, and played games in our hotel room.

One day right after school started Melissa, Katie, and I
met at Ikea and spent the day together. So fun.

Cute pictures and I am so glad your school part of summer is over. You did one more thing this summer.CAMP I know you want to remember that week. Hee Hee
It looks like a fun but tiring summer. At least you survived.
Wow, that does sound exhausting. That's pretty crazy when your summer is so busy that fall brings relief.
We'll have to do something again together soon!
@Nicole - Oh my goodness. How in the world did I forget camp?!? That is sad...
